Executive Development Programs

The structured competency infrastructure your next growth phase requires.

One-off leadership workshops do not close competency gaps. They produce temporary awareness and lasting disappointment. Javelin Institute Executive Development Programs are built on a fundamentally different model — one grounded in how adults actually develop, calibrated to the specific competency gaps your organization carries, and designed to change behavior, not just inform it.

Build the leadership infrastructure your growth requires.

The Framework

Every Javelin Institute program is structured around the 70-20-10 model established by the Center for Creative Leadership — the research-validated framework showing that leadership competency develops most durably through 70% on-the-job experience, 20% learning from others, and 10% formal instruction. This means our programs are not primarily classroom experiences. They are structured development systems that integrate formal instruction, embedded coaching, peer learning, and deliberate real-world application in a sequence that produces measurable behavioral change.

Program Offerings

  • Leadership Competency Intensive: A 90-day cohort program targeting the four highest-impact competency gaps at scale-stage organizations — change management, emotional intelligence, coaching ability, and decision-making under ambiguity. Delivered in cohorts of 6 to 12 executives.
  • AI-Ready Leadership Program: A focused development sequence building the digital fluency and learning agility leadership teams need to perform in AI-augmented environments. Combines formal instruction with structured on-the-job application challenges.
  • Custom Competency Development: For organizations where the Scaling Readiness Assessment identifies a specific gap profile requiring a tailored intervention. Program design, facilitator selection, and delivery are all calibrated to the diagnostic findings.
  • The Results Table Executive Cohort: An invitation-only senior executive development experience combining peer learning, expert facilitation, and high-stakes problem-solving in a confidential dinner-format setting. Applications reviewed quarterly.

What Makes It Different

  • Starts with measurement: every program begins with or incorporates findings from the Scaling Readiness Assessment, so development is targeted, not generic.
  • Operator-led, not consultant-led: facilitated by executives who have run organizations at scale, not academics or career coaches.
  • Built for growth-stage organizations: content, case studies, and application challenges are calibrated to $5M–$500M operating realities, not Fortune 500 contexts.
  • Outcomes are measurable: every program defines behavioral change indicators at the outset and tracks progress against them.

Who Should Apply

Javelin Institute Executive Development Programs are designed for senior leaders and high-potential executives at growth-stage organizations whose next twelve months will demand competencies they have not yet fully developed. They are equally relevant for individual executives investing in their own development and for organizations building out a formal leadership development infrastructure for the first time.

Build the leadership infrastructure your growth requires.
